STAINMASTER Carpets can be damaged! |
|
If you have purchased new carpets within the past 5 years, chances are you
bought a 5th generation nylon. Dupont, Monsanto, BASF and Allied (makers
of the fibers not the carpet, by the way, heavily advertised this new version
of the nylon fiber. The difference over the 4th generation nylons was the
addition of an acid dye blocker to the fiber. These large, colorless dye
molecules were designed to block the dye receptor sites and prevent staining
by acid dyes, such as Kool-Aid, coffee and the like. For the most part the
process is successful, except that these eye dye blockers can be removed
from the fibers with the introduction of a high Ph cleaner. (Ph refers to
the acidity or alkalinity of a water based liquid.) To make a long story
short, the Chem-Dry process does NOT use high Ph cleaning, cleaning solutions,
therefore your carpet gets clean without taking a chance of removing the
stain resistance.
Some cleaning methods rely on very high Ph cleaners because the carpets are not pre-vacuumed or pre-sprayed prior to the soil being extracted. Chem-Dry cleaning professionals have always known the value of pre-treating the carpet first, assuring you safe, yet effective cleaning.
